Sr. Labor Relations Specialist - UTC

Labor Relations Specialist position available supporting the Electric Systems Operations business. Position is best suited for a high-energy and results oriented HR professional, and is located in Rockford, IL . Position will manage all Labor Relations support required for the business unit, comprised of approximately 250 hourly bargaining unit employees. Successful candidate will need to establish and maintain positive working relationships with local management and union officials and provide labor relations guidance. In addition to directly supporting this group, position will also guide the development of IR strategy and planning across the site, including positive employee relations initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Manage IR processes for assigned group, including but not limited to, job postings, grievance procedure, arbitration preparation, and investigatory and disciplinary processes
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with the bargaining unit workforce, local management and union officials.
- Responsible for projects with significant scope and complexity, including key participant in preparation for contract negotiations
- Implement strategic IR initiatives across the site as well as assigned group
- Provide Client HR support to departments as required
- ACE (Lean/Continuous Improvement) Cell lead

Education :
BA/BS degree, minimum of 4 years’ experience in Labor/Industrial Relations, providing day to day support for a bargaining unit group
MA/MS degree, minimum of 2 years’ experience in Labor/Industrial Relations, providing day to day support for a bargaining unit group
