    This presentation will focus on the role HR should play in the agencies strategic planning process, how strategic planning drives HR decisions, how HR impacts and influences the strategic plans of the agency and how to move HR from a tactical to a strategic focus.  Attendees will learn about the process of strategic planning, and how to participate in and lead strategic planning efforts, so they can be a contributing factor in the “C” Suite.

    Biography:

    Jeff Fahrenwald is currently an Assistant Professor of Business and Director of the MBA Program at Rockford University.  As part of his responsibilities he is in charge of RU’s Executive Development Training and the Graduate Assistant program, and oversees marketing for the Graduate Programs. In addition to directing the MBA Program, Jeff teaches a number of classes at both the undergraduate level and graduate level including Leadership, Management, Human Resources Management, Operations Management and Strategic Planning. 

    Jeff Fahrenwald has acted as a consultant, trainer and coach with over 100 local and regional profit, non-profit, and government organizations.  Most of his consulting focuses on strategic planning and organizational development.  Jeff’s training and coaching centers around leadership development, management, and communications.  The goal of all of his work is to help organizations grow sales volume, and profitability, while at the same time developing their people.

    Jeff has worked with numerous different companies including SupplyCore starting as a consultant in 1998 and moving to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President in June, 1999. Jeff was also the Training and Quality Manager for Thrall Distribution. He is a past president of both the MBAA International and The North American Management Society (NAMS).  Moreover, Jeff is a part owner of Arwadh Trading Establishment, a Saudi based holding company that through its partnerships specializes in selling complete purchasing and logistics services, power generation equipment and supplies, and waste water clean-up equipment. Jeff has experience working in for-profit and not-for-profit organizations as well as manufacturing, distribution and service organizations. 

    Jeff is an active contributor in the Rockford community.  He currently is Chair of the board for Rockford Local Development Corporation, Treasurer and a member of the Board of Directors for the Montessori Private Academy and a Member of Rockford Aquarium Board, Rockford Rotary Board, Alignment Rockford, Transform Rockford and Human Rights Committee for Mosaic.  Additionally Jeff serves as Secretary of the Board for NAMS and as advisory board member for MBAA.

    Jeff has been recognized for his contributions to the Rockford Community.  He was recently named the 2014 Citizen of the Year, by the Rockford Area Chamber of Commerce.  The Chamber of Commerce also recognized Jeff as one of 21 People You Should Know in Rockford for 2011.  He received a Service Above Self Award from Rotary, a Golden Rule Award from JC Penny’s, a Spirit of Caring Award from Crusader Clinic and a Community Service Award from the Rockford Park District to name a few.
